Axe sharpening stone with a leather pouch
The handy Bacher stone is designed for convenient sharpening of axes, hatchets, machetes, pruning shears and all outdoor, garden and workshop tools. The oval shape of the stone fits comfortably in the hand, making sharpening large tools easy and safe.
Includes a solid leather belt pouch for convenient storage of the sharpening stone.
The stone is made of corundum and comes in two gradations:
- 120 – repairs a damaged blade (blue)
- 600 – gives the right working sharpness (white)
How do you sharpen an axe on a round Bacher stone?
1. Place the stone in water for a few minutes or use sharpening oil.
2. Hold the axe still, with the blade pointing upwards and move the stone in a circular motion along the edge. Use the lower grit side first, then finish sharpening with the higher grit side.
3. Repeat the same process on the other side of the blade
One tool, many uses!
The stone can be used to sharpen axes, machetes, hatchets, tomahawks, shovels, spades, lawn mower blades, garden tools, outdoor tools and many other cutting tools.
Thanks to its small size and the included leather pouch, you can always keep the sharpener close at hand and reach for it when you suddenly need to sharpen your work tool. The holster is handmade from natural cowhide leather and its shape is perfectly matched to the stone, making it stable when worn. The cover has a practical snap fastener and solid rivets on the sides. Suitable for belts with a maximum width of 5 cm.
